Bookies Notice Shifts in Favorites to Be Under Each Mask on The Masked Singer’s Fifth Season
Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is the current favorite to be Orca on Season Five of Fox’s The Masked Singer, according to betting aggregators. Hawkins’ odds to be under the Orca mask are 7/4 (36.4% implied probability), and he’s followed by Kevin Bacon at 3/1 (25%), Rami Malek at 6/1 (14.3%) and Adam Sandler at 10/1 (9.1%).
“All the talk this week is about this season’s first wildcard, Orca – with names such Adam Sandler, Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon all banded around, but the odds currently point to Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “It’s also worth noting that Foo Fighters’ singer and guitarist Dave Grohl is also on the list, but his 20/1 odds to be under the mask put him at a significant distance from Hawkins.”
The odds now favor Tia or Tamera Mowry to be under the Seashell mask. Their odds to be Seashell have improved from 11/4 (26.7% implied probability) to 1/1 (50%), where they currently have the best chance. Cyndi Lauper was the 2/1 favorite (33.3%), but her odds worsened to 3/1 (25%). Lauper is followed by Hilary Duff at 4/1 (20%).
The Hanson brothers’ odds to be Russian Doll also strengthened. Last week, they were the odds-on 4/6 (60% implied probability) to be under the Russian Doll masks, and they have since improved to 1/2 odds (66.7%).
Grandpa Monster and Robopine have also seen significant shifts. Johnny Knoxville improved from 16/1 (5.9% implied probability) to 4/1 (20%) to be under the Grandpa Monster mask, where he only trails The Miz, who is the 2/1 (33.3%) favorite. Meanwhile Babyface has entered the market to be Robopine with 3/1 odds (35%), where he trails only Steve Harvey at 6/4 (40%).
“Bookies are looking to ride the high after last week’s correct prediction of Danny Trejo being under the Raccoon mask,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “Trejo was the 1/1 favorite, meaning oddsmakers were just as confident in that as they currently are that Nick Lachey is Piglet and Tia or Tamera Mowry are Seashell. Oddsmakers are also more confident in Hanson brothers being Russian Doll.”
