Betting the NL East - Win Totals

The National League East should be extremely competitive in 2022, especially at the top. Here is a look at the win totals for each team in the NL East Division.

The 2022 MLB season is underway, and it should be another exciting season throughout the league. As mentioned previously, the NL East Division should be one of the most competitive divisions in baseball this season, with three teams set to contend.

You can make a futures baseball bet on which team will win the division, but you can also look at betting the win totals for each team. These win totals will likely be changing throughout the regular season, but they should stay the same for a little bit.

Before looking more closely at each team, here is a look at the odds for NL East win totals.

  • Atlanta Braves 91.5
  • New York Mets 88.5
  • Philadelphia Phillies 86.5
  • Miami Marlins 77.5
  • Washington Nationals 71.5

Three Team Race

Based on the win totals that are available for the top three teams in the NL East, this could be a race that comes down to the wire. Atlanta won the NL East a season ago, and they are the slightly betting favorites to get the job done yet again.

It’s going to take at least 92 wins to win the NL East crown, and the Braves are going to be the team that gets it done. There is no reason that Atlanta won’t be even better this season, and they are going over the 91.5 wins.

The New York Mets have already been dealt a big blow in the loss of Jacob DeGrom, but there is hope that this team can still win the division. The win total for the Mets is currently at 88.5, and that just seems a bit too high.

Philadelphia might be the most improved team in the NL East this season, and that lineup is going to crush opposing teams. The Phillies look to be a playoff team this season, and that will help them go over the 86.5 total wins.

New York and Philadelphia are going to keep the pressure on the Braves all season long, but the Mets will eventually fall off. Bet the under 88.5 for the Mets, and over 86.5 total wins for the Phillies.

Who Finishes Last?

It seems pretty clear that the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals are going to fall short in the playoff race, but they can still compete on a nightly basis. Most fans are expecting Miami to be slightly better than Washington, but this should be close.

Both teams are going to finish under the .500 mark on the year, but each team is also going to finish right around the same mark. The pres-season win totals give Miami too much respect and disrespect the Nationals too much.

Bet the under 77.5 total wins for the Miami Marlins and take the over 71.5 wins for the Washington Nationals. Both of these teams should be right around the 75 win mark.
