How Does BN Fantasy Actually Work?
Bleacher Nation Fantasy works similarly to any other Daily Fantasy Sports currently available. You create your team from a pool of players while trying to stay on the budget. Based on the real-life results that those players display each week, you get points and, in turn, win contests against other players or the sportsbook.
BN Fantasy, in particular, offers two contest types – Head-to-Head and Rivals. Head-to-Head looks more like a traditional DFS game. You get a salary cap and build your team while trying to stay on the budget. However, instead of playing against your peers, you are going up against the house.
The twist here is that you already have access to the lineup that the house is putting on. But you can only match the house’s lineup up to a certain number of players. Create your 3 to 6-man lineup and hope for the best. The advantage here is a simplified DFS salary cap and. you are allowed to pick the lineup that you are going up against.
The Rivals contest offers 50 to 60 pre-generated matchups each week. It comes with 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 sets where you can pick which side scores more fantasy points, rushing yards, passing yards, or any other significant stat.
For instance, there might be an offer in which player-duo scores more fantasy points. Besides this being a peer-to-peer system, it is good because it has pre-generated matchups and allows you to pick the side based on the stat category you like.

Supported Sports and Leagues on BN Fantasy
BNF currently allows you to play in two leagues – the NFL and the NBA. Bleacher Report fantasy football is by far the most popular option. In fact, it is how all of DFS got started in the first place. Football was the introductory one, while other types of sports became popular a bit later.
The NBA is the only other fantasy sports option at the moment, but it is no less popular than football. Fantasy NBA is gaining popularity after every season and has now come to the pinnacle of its popularity.
Baseball fans can also expect MLB soon. As the rumor mill suggests, MLB Fantasy arrives in the spring of 2025, and we can honestly say that we can’t wait to try it out.
Which DFS contests can I play on BN Fantasy?
As mentioned, there are two ways to play BNF: head-to-head, where you play against the house, and rivals, where you compete against other players. Both sounded interesting to us, and we found benefits in each. However, we are of the opinion that each customer will find themselves in only one of them. Nevertheless, here is a breakdown of how they work.
Head-to-Head (H2H)
When it comes to H2H contests, players need to wait for Bleacher to reveal their teams first. Salaries are dynamic, so all tickets are locked after you submit your lineups; there are no edits afterward. If a certain player is ruled out before game time, you still have the option of subbing that player out.
You get to pick from a pool of players that are on an active roster of a team. Some players might be missing from the pool if they are injured or traded. Also, if a player gets injured in the first quarter and does not return, the play will be refunded.
The scoring system for both the NFL and NBA fantasy is different, with the NBA version being a lot less complicated.
Rivals Contests
In BNF, the operator will pit two different rosters against one another in a traditional DFS-style format. The player’s task is to determine which of the two sides will win, based on their skill and fantasy sport knowledge.
So as even contests are offered, BN fantasy may decide to give bonus points so that the matchup is more skilled-based. This makes it a bit harder for players to pick the winning sides, but it also makes it balanced and thrilling to play.
The same type of rules apply to Rivals as in H2H contests. No editing of the lineup after submission. It goes the same with player injury, where subs are allowed only before the game starts. The same fantasy sports points scoring system is used as in H2H contests, which is good as it makes things less confusing for people who want to try out both.
Early-Round Fantasy Football Draft Strategies
As we can see and based on our experience, creating a perfect draft strategy from the start breeds success. You need to carefully consider your picks and assess players depending on the position you start from. The more knowledge you gather in the preseason and the more you are acquainted with the sport and the league, the easier it will be for you to create a winning roster.
Here are some picks that you can follow.
- Start with the wide receivers: Your first and even your second pick should go on wide receivers. They are low-risk picks compared to running backs, which are much riskier for you to spend a prime budget on.
- Draft a quarterback in the 3rd round: It is not too late to draft a quarterback in the third round, even if they are star players on their team. Usually, quarterbacks that go in the 2nd and 3rd rounds are those that earn you more fantasy points, which in turn help you win contests.
- Draft a running back in the 4th round: This is the last chance for you to get a starting running back. They bring a lot of value if everything goes according to plan. But if it doesn’t, it can create a lot of problems for you. So, it’s best to save funds and not risk too much when it comes to running backs.
- Wait for your tight end in Round 7: At this point, you have already missed on the top three talents. But that doesn’t have to be a problem for the tight-end position. Getting a running back was more important and adding quality wide receivers as well. You can still get a stellar tight end here, which might even offer surprise returns.
Bleacher Fantasy App: Features
While creating our Bleacher Nation Fantasy review, we agreed that the BNF app is at the center of everything. Through it, you control everything. There is no desktop Bleacher Fantasy version, so you have to do everything through the app. Luckily, this is not a bad thing at all, as it works perfectly well.
After testing it out, we determined that it is a very functional app with stellar design. The main Bleacher Nation team is fully integrated into the app’s visuals, making it appealing to the eye. Besides the aesthetics, the app is very intuitive to use, meaning that everything is where it should be, allowing for ease of usage.
Besides all of these, there are tons of additional benefits that the app brings. For instance, you can:
- Track Betting Picks: Keep track of your fantasy performance within the leagues you are participating in. You get first-hand information about your entire performance in the palm of your hand.
- Social Feed: Through the app, you can get in touch with like-minded people and discuss DFS. You can get insights and feedback about your team and see what picks other people are making as well as being able to discuss tactics with them.
- Instant News Alerts: They can provide you with instant notifications about anything related to the NBA, NFL, or fantasy in general. That way, you can stay ahead of the game by learning about the latest injuries, and trades, or read every piece of news that can help you get ahead of the others.
How to Download and Login?
There are two ways to download the app, and both are simple. First, you can click on the download button on the site’s main page or scan the QR code. Whichever way you decide to go, you will be diverted to the designated download area, where you can install the app. You can choose between the iOS or Android version.
To install the app, you can do the following.
- Press the download button or scan the QR code.
- Initiate the installation process.
- Follow the instructions and enter the required information in the designated field.
- Use your login credentials to enter your account once the app instals.
If you don’t have an account, you can create one. The second the app is ready, press the registration button and follow the instructions to create an account. It works just as fast as the installation process, allowing you to start playing BN fantasy as soon as possible.
Banking Options: Deposits & Withdrawals
When it comes to banking methods, it is where Bleacher Nation lacks a bit. They have ways for you to both deposit and withdraw funds, but not as many as you would want them to offer. Nevertheless, if you want to play fantasy sports with them or compete for a bonus offer, you are going to need to add some funds.
Deposits go either via Credit or Debit cards. The brand accepts all major ones, so you don’t need to worry about that. But if you want to make a withdrawal, you can only use direct deposits to your bank account.
The process involved in adding and withdrawing funds is easy. You just need to log in to your player’s account, pick either the deposit or withdrawal option, and then follow the steps. Adding money goes a lot faster, and you will probably see your tally in a matter of minutes after completing the request.
On the other hand, moving your winnings to your bank account will take significantly longer. Depending on your bank, it might even last a few days.
Legal Age to Play
Bleacher Nation Fantasy is available in 31 states at the moment, and will definitely expand once other states open. But not all of them have the same age limit. Minors can’t play fantasy sports on this site. Therefore the age limit depends on the designated limit proposed by each state.
Therefore, people from Arizona and Massachusetts have to be at least 21+ to play fantasy at Bleacher Nation. Alabama and Nebraska propose a 19+ age limit, making everyone with less than that void. As far as the rest of the states, each one of them proposes an 18+ age limit.
Be sure to check the age limit within your state before thinking about signing up and playing fantasy sports.

The Final Thoughts
In our opinion, Bleacher Nation Fantasy offers a fantastic way for players to enjoy DFS. They are a bit different from the rest, which is a formula that can win a lot of new customers. The way they manage things is awesome, and you can truly tell that their aim is to satisfy their customer base and allow them to have a great time when playing fantasy.
There are still a few kinks that they need to work out. One is adding some payment options, while the other is making a few more contact methods for customer service available. All in all, the brand is a great one, and we can honestly say that you will enjoy playing DFS with them.
