Las Vegas casino operator Derek Stevens has become the stuff of legends in the sports betting world. Ahead of the men’s basketball NCAA Tournament in both 2017 and 2018, he bet $11,000 on each of the tournament’s 32 first round games.
He also bet big on sports in general when he opened Circa Resort & Casino in the downtown section of Las Vegas late last year. One of this gaming resort’s biggest attractions is billed as the largest sportsbook in the world. Stevens also owns and operates Golden Gate Hotel & Casino and D Las Vegas on Fremont Street.
Another one of his business ventures geared completely towards sports betting is Circa Sports. Stevens opened his first sportsbook under this company name in the Golden Gate. Circa Sports was also expanded to the D Las Vegas.
Stevens newest venture for Circa Sports is the first sportsbook outside of his portfolio of Nevada casinos. The new satellite book recently made its debut at Tuscany Suites & Casino. The timing was perfect just as March Madness was getting underway.
Tuscany Suites & Casino is located on E. Flamingo Road, off the famed Las Vegas Strip. Also in the works is another Circa Sports satellite book in Henderson, Nevada.
The Pass Casino will be located at the former Eldorado Casino property in downtown Henderson. Pending regulatory approval, the casino is expected to open April 1. The new Circa Sports sportsbook at this venue is expected to start taking bets by May 1.

Circa Sports at Tuscany fills the space where the former William Hill sportsbook was located. It was closed for renovations ahead of reopening earlier in March. It is located across from Pub 365 near the main entrance into the casino.
This book offers three separate betting windows and with a pair of betting kiosks. The remodeled look was designed to enhance the whole Northern-Italy theme of this gaming venue. This is in contrast to the del Lago Sportsbook in NY.
Stevens had this to say about his latest Circa Sports extension:
We are thrilled to open a new Circa Sports satellite book right before March Hoops begins. Our location at Tuscany enhances the convenience to fund an account with Circa Sports and reach a broader range of customers.
Grayson McNees is the general manager at Tuscany. He offered the following comments:
Our partnership with Circa Sports will allow mutual guests access to an industry-leading, innovative product, that places customer service first. We are excited to offer a new destination for locals and tourists.
The first Circa Sports location at Golden Gate opened in 2019. Tuscany marks Stevens’ fourth sports betting venture in Las Vegas. Circa Sports at The Pass will be the first Circa Sports located outside the primary Las Vegas footprint.
Stevens has left the door open for additional Circa Sports satellite locations in the future. He also ventured into the realm of online sports betting with the debut of the Circa Sports mobile app for Colorado sports betting.
The crown jewel of the collection is still his sportsbook at Circa Resort & Casino. This book covers three separate floors with seating for more than 1000 sports betting enthusiasts. The main viewing screen can display two dozen sporting events at the same time.
