DraftKings is best known for its mobile sportsbook app. This is after the Boston-based company made a name for itself as a top daily fantasy sports site. Through a deal with White Hat Studios, the company is now upping the ante in the realm of iGaming casino games.
The new partnership could bring a collection of White Hat Studios online casino games to five legal US markets. Currently, DraftKings operates a mobile casino gaming app in those states.
White Hat Studios & DraftKings
Based in Europe, White Hat Gaming Limited is the development company behind some of the most popular casino games titles in today’s iGaming marketplace. A few of the company’s more popular titles include Crazy Fishin’, Thriller Gorilla and Divine Links.
Through the new partnership with DraftKings, White Hat Studios will provide its portfolio of online casino content. This collection of games includes slots, progressive jackpots and digital table games. Two of the more popular titles included in this package are Deal or No Deal and Ted.
The alliance between the two parties should be mutually beneficial. White Hat will be able to bolster its standing in the emerging US iGaming sector. Through a strong portfolio of games, DraftKings can level the playing field against its iGaming competitors.
Five Legal US iGaming Markets
While legal mobile sports betting in the US continues to expand, mobile iGaming markets remain limited. The newly formed partnership between White Hat Studios and DraftKings should eventually cover all five of those available online casino markets.
This limited list consists of Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In comparison, there will be more than 30 states with legal sports betting by the end of this year.
The iGaming sector in the US may be small but it is growing at a high rate. More states are expected to join this group in the coming months and years.
White Hat Studios’ latest partnership with DraftKings is significant. However, this will be the gaming development company’s fourth collaboration in the US market. Prior to this deal, White Hat Studios formed iGaming partnerships with FanDuel, BetMGM and Tipico.
At the present time, none of those other operators offer White Hat game titles in Michigan. There is speculation that the new arrangement with DraftKings could open the door to this state.
DraftKings and Golden Nugget Casino
Earlier in May of this year, DraftKings finalized its acquisition of Golden Nugget Online Gaming. This is viewed as another important step in expanding the company’s presence in the US iGaming market.
This move also gives DraftKings added options for distributing its selection of online casino content. The company could add White Hat’s portfolio exclusively to the DraftKings Casino brand. It could also make this content available through Golden Nugget Casino.
Following the recent acquisition, DraftKings has yet to make any official statements addressing its future distribution plans. The newly formed partnership with White Hat Studios will most likely dictate the future course of action.
Many industry insiders believe that DraftKings will use this new partnership as a lead-in for White Hat entering Michigan’s iGaming industry.
