DONALD TRUMP looks set to land this year’s TIME Person Of The Year award ahead of Colin Kaepernick, according to research by our US-Bookies betting analysts.
We assessed data from 4 British and Irish bookmakers currently offering odds on the event and it looks like President Trump is out in front in his quest to win the award for the second time. This is your chance to learn how to read odds as his win has a probability as high as 40% (+150), compared to the former footballer in second place on the list at +250, or with an implied likelihood of victory of 28%.
Elon Musk is another contender, with bookies such as Caesars Sportsbook placing him in third at +400, ahead of Kim Jong-Un who is listed at +700 for the TIME award despite being the current Nobel Peace Prize favorite.
In the UK, over £250,000 is bet annually on the TIME prize and bookmakers anticipate that a win for Donald Trump will trigger payouts of £500,000 as 80% of stakes in the market so far have been registered for the POTUS.
Alex Kostin of US-Bookies said: “It would be quite the story if TIME chose Trump over Kaepernick this year but that’s what the betting is currently suggesting is the most likely outcome. Bettors can’t get enough of The President in all manner of markets and if he gets on the front cover for the second time running, his fans will be celebrating with another payday.”
