James Bond Betting Odds See Shake-up in Top Three
–Idris Elba, Henry Cavill Now Second and Third Favorite to be Next Bond–
Idris Elba’s and Henry Cavill’s odds to be the next James Bond have seen considerable improvements since last month, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Idris Elba improved from 18/1 (5.3% implied probability) to 11/2 (15.4%), while Henry Cavill improved from 16/1 (5.9%) to 6/1 (14.3%). Tom Hardy remains the 3/1 favorite (25%).
“Idris Elba and Henry Cavill have been on fans’ and bookies radars for some time, but their recent improvements come at a time when the Bond producers mentioned wanting the next star to be a British male of any ethnicity,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “However, at the same time that Elba and Cavill improved, Richard Madden and Tom Hopper saw their odds move in the opposite direction.”
Richard Madden’s odds to take over the role worsened from 6/1 (14.3% implied probability) to 9/1 (10%). He now trails Regé-Jean Page, whose odds have remained at 8/1 (11.1%) since last month. Tom Hopper’s odds also weakened from 11/2 (15.4%) to 12/1 (7.7%).
“Tom Hopper was the favorite to be the next James Bond as recently as October, when a sharp increase in bets caused the Umbrella Academy star’s odds to surge,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “However, that rise appears to be short-lived, as Hopper’s odds now put him behind Jamie Bell and James Norton.”
Tom Hardy Reclaims Spot as Favorite to be Next James Bond
–Hardy Improves While Hopper, Madden Worsen in James Bond Betting Markets–
Tom Hardy once again has the strongest odds to be the next James Bond, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). His odds to take over Daniel Craig’s role have improved from 9/2 (19.2% implied probability) to 3/1 (25%). Hardy has overtaken Tom Hopper, whose odds worsened from 7/2 (22.2%) to 11/2 (15.4%).
“The Tom Copper surge seems to have ended, as Tom Hardy is now back on top as the most likely actor to be the next James Bond,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “In fact, Hardy’s current odds are better than Coppers were at their peak during the end of October.”
Richard Madden’s odds to take over the role also worsened from 4/1 (20% implied probability) to 6/1 (14.3%). He’s followed by Regé-Jean Page, whose odds also weakened from 11/2 (15.4%) to 8/1 (11.1%).

“Regé-Jean Page is another addition to the list of actors who were the betting favorite to be the next James Bond at some point in October,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “While he had the strongest odds early last month, they quickly trended negatively to the point where he’s now fourth on the list.”
James Norton and Sam Heughan noticed positive movement in the James Bond betting markets. Norton’s odds improved from 14/1 (6.7% implied probability) to 12/1 (7.7%), while Heughan improved from 20/1 (4.8%) to 14/1 (6.7%). They’re closely followed by James Bell, who emerged at 16/1 (5.9%), where he’s now tied with Mahershala Ali and Henry Cavill.
